Tranquility in a Terrarium - Original Watercolor Painting

I painted this piece with an intense fervor on my trip to Hamburg, Germany in 2025. At the time, I wanted to capture how special this moment was, from the brightly sunlit trees, to the rainbow of color on the tabletop and the apples my friend and I bought from the market. We stayed in this apartment for two weeks, and every morning at this kitchen table was absolutely magical. This little kitchenette probably looks very similar today, terrariums and all. I think a terrarium is an appropriate metaphor for this space in my mind - a beautiful, warm, sunlit space bursting with color, contained in a glass. A memory is a similar feeling - beautiful, warm, incredibly tranquil, and yet untouchable from the present moment in time. This piece holds deep personal meaning to me in this way, a perfect, untouchable and untainted memory of wonder and joy.
